Focus the well to see recents; type to search the workspace/people fixtures (or "search" for a fake message hit). Every non-empty query also offers "Ask Holoh" (⌘↵ from anywhere in the list); a query that matches nothing — try "zzz" — promotes that row to the top and pre-selects it, so Enter reaches it.
