DM surface — type @ for the mention menu (agents pinned, broadcast tokens, people), / for the slash palette, the emoji button for the picker, and the + button for the attach menu. The format bar's link button opens the Insert link dialog — select text first and it prefills “Text to display”. Enter sends; the schedule chevron appears once non-empty.

Agent surface (HOLOH DMs, and the thread reply composer) — format and emoji stay, but there is no Schedule split button, so the send group is the send button's own width and Send sits flush right. The mic takes exactly that slot while the draft is empty instead of the two swapping places as you type.

Attachment upload (issue #1171) — the + stages a file against a deliberately slow fake seam. While it uploads, Send swaps its arrow for a spinner in the same fixed-size button and hovering it says “Uploading attachment…” instead of showing a bare not-allowed cursor; it goes back to a plain, clickable Send when the upload lands. Name a file something with “fail” in it to watch the failure path — the spinner stops rather than running forever.

Workspace surface — taller input with a cycling placeholder; the + opens the richer WorkspaceAttachMenu (files, screenshot, GitHub, Skills, Connections, toggles). No emoji / format / schedule on this surface.
